Somewhere between the act of drawing and the exploration of spatial conditions these works find form.
Through drawing, the work focuses on devices of optic shift and geometrical space filling. As simple shapes coalesce, forms emerge and recede through the surface. Static objects slip and roil within their own boundaries. Thought of as continents or satellites, flat metal objects are constructive units of what might once have been a contiguous whole, a mythical Pangaea.
Expanding the idea of shift literally, gravity and tension register in pieces rendered in wood and fabric. These composite textiles push into dimensionality attempting to reshape the space around them both optically and corporeally.
